I used to have this CTD.

Try to tap Escape key to go back to the menu before exiting from VR, it may help.

will try that. thanks

Also, if using WMR, using the latest preview version can cause this behaviour, so try unchecking it using WMR developer tool if it is enabled.

Unfortunately that's a moving target, the preview version that introduced this crash is now the current version and it still fails to exit VR mode gracefully under hard-to-understand circumstances, the new preview version doesn't seem to change that behavior.

Fair point.

In any case, I find the simplest solution to not get CTDs when exiting VR in FS2020 is to not tempt it and remain in VR even when exiting FS2020.

That would be ok if it was possible to save a flight without exiting VR.  But it isn't.

It is possible to save a flight without exiting VR but you need two monitors so that you can move the save dialog box to the second screen so that you can interact with it, but for single monitor you are right.

We are now replying about an issue which is 1 year and a half old. Is that issue still existing nowadays ?

I have used MSFS with both a WMR headset (via SteamVR and OpenXR) and now a SteamVR-only headset. I never had a single crash related to jumping in or out of VR. Only bad thing could occur when switching the headset (or SteamVR or other related software) OFF prior to exiting the VR mode in MSFS, but that's it...
