November 3, 20214 yr Aerosoft CRJ-700. I submit a flightplan and have my FMS VNAV set to FL300, but built-in ATC clears me to FL230 and then that's it. Am I goofing somewhere or is this typical? i7 8700K @4Ghz, EVGA RTX3080 Ultra, 32GB RAM, Two 2K displays. Alpha Yoke, Bravo Throttle Quadrant, CH Pedals.
November 3, 20214 yr I think MSFS doesn't care about FMS altitudes. You need to set the cruise altitude in the flight plan in the world map before you start the flight. Also dumb that you cannot access world map after you've started the flight and amend anything. Oh well.

Happens to me all the time when I import a Simbrief flight plan via the FBW A320 MCDU (I only set the departure airport/gate on the world map). When ATC no longer clears me higher, I just use the ATC dialogue to request a higher altitude. One may have to do that request more than once, as the maximum that the request can be is 10,000 feet. Note that the altitude requests can be done one after the other until ATC has the altitude that you want. Can you please try the following: Create your FP in Simbrief, generate the FP Using the Simbrief downloader, transfer your FP to MSFS LocalState folder When on the MSFS map, select on the bottom menu line "Load and Save" click "LOAD" Select the saved Simbrief FP, click OPEN, your FP will appear on the planning line, Choose your gate or parking position from the DROP DOWN list - NOT from the map (hover your mouse on the airport map to see which position you wish, but don't select it from the map otherwise your FP will be changed by MSFS...)
