I can confirm the same issue with the beta version, as soon as I click on a request the P2ATC volume slider goes back to 1. Reverted to the previous version and it works fine again!

I am working to resolve it.  

In the meantime, turn off the Speech Recognized Tone option or increase the volume of it to the level you want voices to be heard and it should get you going again.
