The Plane we don't Fly

Featured Replies

Hehe - yeah it's the King Air 350i from Asobo.  I don't usually fly this one.  If I need a quality king air it's the Milviz B350i in P3D....  their Pro Line simulation is top notch.  But since I'm in MSFS - I've got to settle for "insert random avionics" King air lol

Using the WT G3X mod (a lot of people think this uses G3000 - it doesn't - uses the G3X - which again is modded by WT and adds some items which are worth having imo).  The real one uses the Pro Line 21 or Pro Line Fusion at the moment.

Palm Springs to John Wayne, CA.

Have you taken the gondola up the mountain?

Oh, this is the CATH1 PSP procedure....you takeoff RY 31L, might a right climbing turn back to the vor, then fly SE outbound, then another right climbing turn to the PSP vor, then on your way....  it's for terrain avoidance.  In jets its not really a factor as they climb quicker.  I was climbing just fine to but I flew this on Pilot Edge and the controller didn't get back to me until I turned NW direct PSP and on course.  (sometimes they'll give you a shortcut if you're high enough).  Note KPSP airport in the lower right of my wind screen.

Looking east again (we're NW bound towards the PSP274R (V388 to DEWAY) - Twentynine Palms KTNP in the distance - there is a really nice rendition for P3D and XP11 - hope it comes to MSFS.

Finally headed westbound on course towards SoCal.  The avionics with the mod, aren't awful.  It's touchscreen based, so very enjoyable for online flight when Air Traffic demands much from the pilot.

Ooops, an aggressive vector by the controller - they had some traffic for me at the last moment.

A bit high but intentionally offset as tower was also working a cessna turning left base for RY 20L.  I like to dogleg into 20R so we can both easily see each other.

They sure did a nice job with modelling though.  Textures by Crankpin (there's an asobo changeable reg version too!):  https://flightsim.to/file/23136/king-air-350i-n8141t-and-custom-reg

I have. 1976. Went horse riding up the top as well.

Nice pictures, could have done with a few more. 😄

I imagine it was a great view!  I'm going to date you a little now....  I wasn't even born in '76 hehe!

Does the forum still have a 20 limit?  If not I always delete a bunch in case it is the limit.

Great shots....the WT GX mod saved this one for me...it was pretty awful before, which was a shame because, as you say, it looks really good.. I like to do some RFDS runs over to Tasmania from Essendon in the 350......
