Can only hear pilot voice in ATC

Featured Replies

Took a flight from Cherbourg to Durham Tees today in the Caravan.  Firstly I wanted the AI copilot to handle ATC, which didnt happen, and then on climb I could only hear my pilot's voice, none of the other traffic..  On getting to Durham Tees I could select the airfield frequency, but there was no option to ask for joining and landing instructions.  Is this just part of the ATC mess at the moment?  I've been using Azure and don't really want to just have text ATC.

It has been breaking randomly since SU6. Restarting the sim fixes it.

I've stopped using the co-pilot for communications and haven't had this issue since then.

An obvious one, but was your volume turned up?  I have done this a few times!

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Common Issue...  if, at some point, you are given instructions to change atc frequency and as you or your AI is doing so a message comes in from another aircraft on the old frequency..  at that point, you loose all communicatioins from tower and only get your responses.  If you are not using AI for comms this obviously means you cant reply because you have nothing to reply to.. but the AI will still respond, even though you don't see the tower comms and offtimes, options in the ATC window just won't appear.. it will be frozen in the state you last had comms from the tower.  In addition, you will probably, from that point on, not hear any other traffic on ATC either.

If you don't use AI for comms.. just be careful when you select to change frequencies..  don't change when a reply is expected from another aircraft 🙂

This situation has been exacerbated by using AI programs, where there is a lot more ATC communication going on.

Zendesk are aware, but additinal reports would help 🙂

Thanks for the detailed response.  I think that was it.   I guess with the AI add ons that's going to happen a lot more often!
