November 24, 20214 yr Author There are several explanations of how to add or remove tabs in the properties window, such as this, but none make reference to Link Properties or Shortcut (which would also show me the Target). And I'm not about to mess with the registry without specific instructions for one of those tabs. Seems that having Pro or Enterprise editions of Win10 would make that process easier. The upshot is... Yes, C...LocalCache does indeed link to the G drive files.🙂 So it's looking pretty safe to delete the Official and Community folders on the E drive. First, I'll do what I suggested and delete a symbolic link from E...Community and hopefully confirm it still shows up in AddonsLinker and MSFS, thus confirming it's essentially a dead link. If so, I'll check a couple more the same way before deleting everything. I'll report back... Quote: First, I'll do what I suggested and delete a symbolic link from C...Community Correct, also now corrected in that post. So many letters!😁 First impressions: I looked for an entry which was in both E and G (freeware Edgley Optica) and deleted the (older) one in E. AddonsLinker didn't look for a refresh, as I hoped would be the case. Started MSFS (strangely got the Firewall prompt I always get after an update) and was still able to select the Optica. Successfully flew a short pattern, the only negative being the flight took a few minutes to load, which is rare these days. I've now managed to delete 45 items from E without AddonsLinker complaining. All of them had duplicates in G anyway so I expected no problems. I'll need to be more methodical from this point on as I changed my naming convention for add-ons after I installed AddonLinker, so it will take longer to check if there's an equivalent file in G. But it's looking positive so far.😊 OS: Win11 Home; Mobo: Asus TUF Gaming Z690-Plus WiFi D4; CPU: Intel i5-12400 (Alder Lake) 4.4 GHzRAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 64Gb (4x16GB) 3600 MHz; GPU: MSI Radeon RX 5700XT [8GB] SSD: Corsair Force MP510 (for OS); 2x 1TB & 1x 2TB Sabrent Rocket Nvme PCIe 4.0 (one for sim, two for addons)HDD: Seagate 3TB (Data); Seagate 1TB (Programs), ASUS TUF Gaming VG32VQ1B Curved 31.5" monitor, 1440p, 38Mbs ethernet Fulcrum One Yoke, Honeycomb Bravo throttle, Thrustmaster Airbus TCA sidestick & throttle, Logitech Pro pedals, Xbox wireless gamepad (1st gen)
November 25, 20214 yr Author Well that's E Official and Community folders emptied to the Recycle Bin and both AddonsLinker and MSFS appear happy.🤗 I'll leave everything in the bin for a while till I'm sure all is well, but I expect it is. The only iddity I've noticed is the radio panel in the Livery 1 version of the Pipistrelle is pink, as in the livery isn't loaded correctly, but as it's the first (and probably last) time I've used that livery, I'm not bothered. Once I'm truly confident there are no other issues, I'll then maybe use the Apps setting in Windows to actually move MSFS to the E Drive where I actually want it to be, but not before I have a backup in the books!
