November 25, 20214 yr Probably the only nice FM feature I experienced in MFS after SU6 was the fix to the Legacy-inherited roll rate / inertia limit that was capping the roll rate on aircraft with really hig rates of roll and low roll inertia, like the Extra 300 and so on... Recently MFS allowed for a much more realistic response of these aircraft to stopping a fast aileron roll. Would be great if LM could update their FDE too, clearing whatever has been prebventing a roll from being "stopped" like in : Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
November 25, 20214 yr I use to tune my aircrafts.cfg to a better behavior based on my real experiencie. Always with a nice result. This is my Feelthere E-jet E190 [flight_tuning] cruise_lift_scalar = 1.00 parasite_drag_scalar = 1.00 induced_drag_scalar = 1.00 elevator_effectiveness = 1.40 aileron_effectiveness = 0.60 rudder_effectiveness = 1.00 pitch_stability = 1.00 roll_stability = 1.20 yaw_stability = 1.00 elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.00 aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.00 rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.00 A320 First Officer - i9-14900k - RTX4080 - 32GB DDR5 6000mhz - P3D v5.3 / XP12 / MSFS / FS2024 Instagram | Youtube | Airliners.net | Facebook | Twitch

Do you have any thoughts about the flight tuning for the E-170, E-175 and E-195? Or indeed any other aircraft that you have experience on? November 25, 20214 yr You should get the MOI right before tweaking the flight tuning scalar values. The stock FS formula usually results in values that are too low. The best way to determine the MOI is to use this formula from Tom Goodrick: IX(roll) = ((RX * b)^2) / 4) * BOW / 32.2 IY(pitch) = ((RY * L)^2) / 4) * BOW / 32.2 IZ(yaw) = ((RZ * M)^2) / 4) * BOW / 32.2 where b=span. L=length, M=(b+L)/2 and BOW is basic operating weight for large aircraft or empty weight for small aircraft. To get the values of RX, RY and RZ, look them up in the following table: Aircraft_____BASICS SHAPE________RX___RY____RZ 747________Jet 4-eng on wing____0.332_0.380_0.508 737________Jet 2-eng on wing____0.264_0.456_0.517 DC-9_______Jet 2-eng on fuselage_0.242_0.360_0.435 727________Jet 3-eng on fuselage_0.247_0.442_0.518 Cessna 172__1-eng high wing_____0.242_0.386_0.403 Beech Bonan_1-eng low wing______0.248_0.338_0.393 Beech Baron__light twin__________0.260_0.329_0.399 DHC6 T Otter__twin turbo_________0.203_0.326_0.350 Cessna 550___light biz jet________0.243_0.400_0.447 Martin 404____twin radial_________0.272_0.378_0.444 DC-6_________four radial_________0.322_0.324_0.456 Dave Simulator: P3Dv6.1 System Specs: Intel i7 13700K CPU, MSI Mag Z790 Tomahawk Motherboard, 32GB DDR5 6000MHz RAM, Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Video Card, 3x 1TB Samsung 980 Pro M.2 2280 SSDs, Windows 11 Home OS My website for P3D stuff: https://sites.google.com/view/thep3dfiles/home
November 25, 20214 yr Author The problem with the laggy instead of sudden ailero roll stops has to do with an internal legacy limit on how much degree ( actually radian ) per second the FDE can process. ASOBO has cleared the throttled roll rate in a recent MFS update and now their Extra and Pitts stop the rolls like in their RW counterparts.
