Fantastic Real Time Weather.

Featured Replies

Wow I was just flying around my RL home airport, and yes over my house as well.

We are having a pretty significant snowfall here KIZG. But the ceiling is 2000' variable down to 500' with light snow.

Well that is what I just flew through in FS2020 in the fantastic H145. It was snowing lightly in the sim and the ground was partly covered by snow as I flew up toward my house up the valley snow cover turned full including fresh snow on the trees. The heli canopy iced up a bit but not completely as I had pitot heat and anti icing on.

The realism was stunning the sun even peeked through at times exactly like real wx at my house. Then it socks in pretty hard and started snowing harder and I went back to the airport and landed.

This was an absolutely perfect representation of the real time real world. Thank you ASOBO/MS fantastic job.

The realism is getting scary good. I was flying TrackIR using the Puck and Open Track and it works perfectly, thanks GrassMonkey.

Now if it snows a bit more I will have to get my XC skis out and go for a slide about. Can't do that in FS2020 yet, maybe soon.

I too have been buzzing around my home town today in the sim and the weather was spot on with the light snow and cloud cover we actually had here north of Toronto 😀

I also have the head tracker from Grass Monkey, I must admit I do not use it as often as I should. Roger is an awesome guy to deal with. He has a new camera coming out so I am waiting for it to be in stock.

One question, how did you mount your mouse mat under what looks like your throttle quadrant? I just got a Bravo Throttle for my birthday last week and was looking at different ways to mount something under my desk I could use my mouse on as real estate is a bit limited on my desk even though it is quite large.

Indeed it seems Asobo have waved the magic wand. Live weather is now working good again with clouds reporting what it should be in real life. Maybe some server patch was pushed..

As you can see I have a ton off stuff hooked up to my sim

I custom built my "table". It is in 3 levels with "wings" on each side. The extra keyboard you see is for the Tablet PC I sometimes run as can be seen above the 2 custom AP interfaces, one for GA planes and one for the A320.

There is also a keypad on the right hooked to the main sim CPU with custom key combinations programmed to keys, I fly a lot of different aircraft and have many different configs, joysticks , rudder pedals, collective heli control etc.

It all runs well and I often have to add to my "desk" if you can call it that. It is a bit of a Frankenstein or Rube Goldberg if you like.

I have about 20 different USB devices several home made with Arduino and LeoBodnar boards.

Cool setup!

It looked like the mouse holder was coming out of the bottom of the Bravo in your Sig pic, I couldn't really zoom in though lol

I just ordered a mouse holder from Amazon that clamps on the desk and sits a couple of inches lower than the desktop . It'll be here tomorrow. I am thinking to put it just too the right of the Bravo. Now I need to figure out what to do with my Saitek Radio & Multi panel, I did mount them on top of the Alpha & Bravo but it made getting too the buttons on the Bravo a little tricky
