Need help with pushbacks

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I'm somewhat new to using the pushback system in this sim and would like to request some help.

I normally use the short cut SHIFT + P to initiate (and then discontinue) a pushback. But I'm finding, with the Baron at least, that after the pushback is done, the plane remains locked in place. All efforts to release the brakes are for naught. Oddly enough, when advancing the throttles, I see the airspeed climb and yet, the plane cannot be moved.

Is there something I'm missing here?

Also, is the pushback option available at very airport?

Lastly, can the direction of the pushback be modified, as PMDG does?

Thanks very much for the link. It doesn't appear to work with the Baron but it's a really nice addition for the Longitude, which is my current jet of choice.

I'm still having the issue whereby once I press SHIFT + P with the Baron, it locks up the brakes and they can't be released.

And what happens, if you use the pushback tool for Baron?

Are you sure you don’t have double key bindings? Same key combination for pushback and parking brake? or even same key combination for pushback and active pause. Check your key bindings.

Seems you have parking brake key bindings issue. Try pushback and release parking brake from tools menu.

It hooks up but doesn't do anything.

My guess is your program is keeping the brakes on. Check for all parking brake assignments. You should only have one.

And yet, it works fine with the Longitude. That tells me the problem is aircraft specific.

Did you check for duplicate key bindings? Active pause maybe? I also use better pushback. Works flawlessly and you can adjust speed and direction either on the panel or with rudder control.

Are you changing controller profiles with that one aircraft?

No, everything is the same.

Just to clarify--my issue has nothing to do with the Pushback add on, but rather the way the Baron responds to the generic MSFS pushback function.

Have you checked any other key bindings that might be mapped to shift-p ?

Yes, there doesn't seem to be any conflicts. Also, since the issue only occurs in some aircraft (Baron, Bonanza and Cirrus), and not others (Diamond, Longitude, TBM), I wouldn't think the mapping is where the problem exists.
