February 13, 20224 yr I would be interested to know why there is such a dramatic difference in performance at various airports with dynamic lighting enabled. It does not seem to have anything to do with the size of the airports, so something else is at play. You could argue that some developers are better at it than others, but then (as an example) the IniBuilds DL update of MK Studios EIDW Dublin suffers a much more significant hit to performance on my PC than the same developer's DL update of SimWings EGLL London Heathrow Professional.... February 13, 20224 yr DL is a huge GPU killer for airports that are not optimized properly for v.5 especially v5.3 ++, for me with a 11GB GPU its not so much Vram its GPU usage I have to be very careful with the settings.( VC off for sure for me ) IMHO anything less than a 10GB Vram card could struggle in v5 ++, but I am no Rob Ainscough 😎 ROG Crossair Hero X670e , 9900X, TUF 4090 , X4 NVME's. February 13, 20224 yr are you folks using 4k textures and maxing your settings out? i am on a 2k monitor , using 2k textures and fly the pmdg 777, aerosoft a319 and the fsl a320 and never gone above 3gb of vram on my 2080 super. i keep all my settings on normal or high and never had an issue, i am just curious why people have so many problems with vram. i was patiently waiting on the videocard to drop in price, and hopefully the 4,000 series nvidia cards will all have 16gb of vram. i bet p3d developers are kinda holding back with better scenery textures, ect..., until the videocard market gets better. just a guess.

It's harder to hit VRAM limit on an 8GB card on the latest version of V5 but it's still doable with the right combination of add-ons (e.g. FlyTampa's EHAM V2, a PBR aircraft, GSX, and LOD radius set to anything higher than Medium).
