December 18, 20214 yr Hi all, with the H145 sale going on I may partake in some helicopter ops..Keeping in mind I’m not a helicopter guy and really know nothing of helicopters, what are the preferred controls method for this type of flying, Will a simple joystick and rudder pedals work for helicopter ops? Intel I7 12700KF / 32 GB Ram-3600mhz / Windows 11 - 64 bit / NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060TI / 32" Acer Monitor, Honeycomb alpha/bravo, CH rudder pedals, Tobii 5, Buttkicker, Logitech radio panel.

That's what I use plus a throttle. There are some buttons specific to the H145 you'll want to set up, Beep Trim is quite important for autoflight. It's all in the manual. Thanks, I have a Logitech 3d extreme joystick laying around, and maybe I can use my bravo somehow for this application. December 19, 20214 yr If you'd like a simple helicopter collective (without a manual throttle), and you are happy fiddling with some nuts and bolts; you can very easily modify one of these below. It just needs the spring removed, the main lever rotated around, reassembled with an additional washer to add some friction, and mount it vertically so gravity pulls everything downward. It comes with enough parts to do everything needed. If you'd like to modify it further, the one I bought uses an arduino pro-micro with MMJOY2 software which you can modify to suit your needs. I'm guessing they are all the same. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/384196259113?hash=item5973e1ad29:g:CHIAAOSwDqBgtI6P Edited December 19, 20214 yr by dogmanbird
December 19, 20214 yr mount it this way and tighten the nut/bolt circled in orange to add enough friction to keep the handle in place unsupported (but needs the additional washer or two added). give the washers a squirt with wd40 and it's silky smooth for ever Edited December 19, 20214 yr by dogmanbird
