GPS Mode Not Following FP (resolved)

Featured Replies

On a flight right now, flying heading mode because GTN750 (I got it setup and installed correctly) will not follow FP when I click on "NAV" on the Carenado Saab 340 MCP. The aircraft should be turning right 15-20 degrees to intercept the waypoint but instead it keeps wanting to turn left. I have to press HDG mode on the MCP to get pointed in the right direction. It would be nice if Jean-Luc could help out with this...Regards

What settings have you selected for that aircraft in the RXP GTN Configuration menu (see page 5 of the RXP GTN User Manual)

Thanks Frank, I have read the manual, but I guess not close enough, took it too much for granted. I had the RealityXP.GTN.ini file located outside the panel folder (window). I have now done that. But from the attached, I notice that all panel instrument boxes a re checked. Just the first three and the last one (Connect CDI Mode to NAV\GPS Switch). I'll follow those instructions and see how it goes. I have a feeling this is what I need to get things in order. Appreciate your feedback. I will report back after testing.

Regards,

Tom

Tom,
Those settings may vary from aircraft to aircraft model and often do, as unfortunately not all of the aircraft developers write to the same standards.  Compensating for that is thoughtfully then designed into RXP products, thus the settings.  Greatly reduced dependency on patches from aircraft designers.

Frank, I just tried again with those settings and combinations of others and when I have NAV on MCP and GTN750 set to GPS It seems to want to turn the airplane away from the next  waypoint in the FP. I guess no one has ever got it working in Carenado Saab 340. Oh well, thanks for the help anyway.

Tom,
Try this.  Head back into the Configuration Panel.  Scroll well down into the settings until you find "Use Simulator GPS Commands" and select it.  See if that does the trick.  You may need to unselect some options in the very first section of the Configuration Panel.

Frank, That was it. I selected the "Use Simulator GPS Commands" option and the GPS mode worked in concert with the NAV mode on the MCP. I also did the same for the Carenado B1900 as well, while I was at it. Thanks so much for all your help with this...I very much appreciate your time. Best of the season to you and yours.

Tom

Hi Frank,

I'd given up on getting my Carenado B120 to follow the GPS track.  It was determined to turn around and go back to Base.  I came across this thread, followed your instructions, and the B120 now follows the GPS like a lamb!

I just wanted to send you my grateful thanks for your expertise.

Best Regards, Jim H.
