January 14, 20224 yr I have never had this problem before today. I can successfully get to the home screen. But then whatever I try to do next hangs the whole sim and I can't recover without rebooting my entire system. I have tried with no Community Folder, I have tried in Safe Mode, I have tried turning off Online Functionality. Most of the hangs have been trying to start a flight but not all. Some have just been trying to do things that were suggested in other threads for this problem. As far as I can remember, I haven't changed anything since yesterday regarding the sim except common tuning parameters, trying to get more FPS and a steady VR system. I have tried running the Process Monitor as was suggested in another thread with no positive result. Just as I was tuning VR and making some headway, now I can't do anything. I don't know where this is coming from. Please make any and all suggestions as to how to get out of this total catch-22. I am dead in the water until I can get the sim to do something besides hang. January 14, 20224 yr Hi Rob, When I had problems, after some research I came across this: 1. Delete any rolling cache. 2. Delete the Content.xml file. (AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Content.xml) 3. Delete the simulator .dat files (AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes\*.dat) 4. Do not add anything to the Community folder If that doesn't help, try this: Quick reinstall without download all data: Copy the Official / Packages folder somewhere safe. (Or rename it temporarily) (This is the bulk of the data) Uninstall then re-install MSFS Copy the Official / Packages folder back to where you want it before starting MSFS Start MSFS, when it asks where the data folder should be, navigate back to where you put the Packages folder. At least it helped in my case Good luck Mick PC: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master, DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2X32 GB, Corsair HX 1000, Fractal Torrent, Samsung LC32 / G7 1440P.

January 21, 20224 yr Try turning "Photogrammetry" off in the DATA section if you have it on. This is a known problem and has affected a lot of users including myself; a ticket has been logged with the support team. Try the Photogrammetry only first before turning off all online functions. Cheers. Forshaw.
