January 23, 20224 yr The last few flights I have done I have experienced very blurry airport textures when landing. The flight is perfectly fine until I approach the airport. This happened into FlyTampa KLAS today and KATL (3rd party) the other day. Both flights were on vatsim with lots of traffic and AIG so I think that might have caused it. It was so bad you could barely make out the runway and couldn't see any of the numbers, signs, etc. As soon as I got off the runway, it popped into perfect textures and resolution. What could be the cause of this, too much traffic? January 23, 20224 yr It looks like your pc is not able to handle your settings when approaching the airport. Dial some settings back like terrain and buildings. If you do not have a topend graphics card you better dial back those settings too. Once everything looks not blurry at approach you can try with higher settings, one at the time… 5950x3d 5.4-5.7 GHz - Asus ROG 870 Crosshair Apex - GSkill Neo 2x 24 Gb 6000 mhz / cas 26 - MSI RTX 5090 Gaming Trio OC - 1x SSD M2 6000 2TB - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 1Tb - Corsair 5400 case - Corsair 360 liquid cooling set - 3x 75’ TCL tv. 13600 6 cores @ 5.1 GHz / 8 cores @ 4.0 GHz (hypterthreading on) - Asus ROG Strix Gaming D - GSkill Trident 4x Gb 3200 MHz cas 15 - Asus TUF RTX 4080 16 Gb - 1x SSD M2 2800/1800 2TB - 2x Sata 600 SSD 500 Mb - Corsair D4000 Airflow case - NXT Krajen Z63 AIO liquide cooling - FOV : 200 degrees My flightsim vids : https://www.youtube.com/user/fswidesim/videos?shelf_id=0&sort=dd&view=0

I'll give it a try. The weird thing is I have used these settings for a while and only now started to experience this. FT's KLAS uses 11.4Gb of VRAM on my system (12Gb 3080Ti), and something like 14Gb of SysRAM, and I need to have the LODs down to 200/200 tops to maintain 30fps w/ vsync. Here's a neat way to set this up: put your plane down a KLAS, open Dev Mode w/ its Frame Rate on-screen-display showing, and then dial settings down, starting first with Terrain LOD, then Object LOD and observe what the MainThread is in milliseconds. Keep dialing back, save and resume, until that value is under 20ms. After the two LOD's play around w/ other settings. FWIW, I've found there is a real price to pay for some payware airports. The default airports as you have witnessed are often quite good, and they are far easier on hardware in general. How's your internet bandwidth? I can probably change my LOD from 300 to 200 or less and see if that helps. Like I said before, this is only starting to happen as of this last week and a half or so and I have flown into FTs KLAS and Imaginesim KATL before without having that happen at my current settings. The only difference is lately I have been using AIG and flying on VATSIM. Is it possible that AIG is making my system do that? January 24, 20224 yr Yes for sure the performance cost for what AIG is bringing is going to be measurable. I don't use it, but I do use Simple Traffic and it has some impact on the MainThread in particular and this I would expect to be similar for AIG. As stated, I can't run Terrain LOD at 300 at FT KLAS, no way no how, AND maintain perfectly stutter-free fluid performance, but that is w/ the 787 HD mod which is a little harder on performance than the other two planes I use. Go ahead and do what was suggested: launch your plane at KLAS, open Dev Mode's OSD frame rate display and notice what the MainThread is showing when you are taxiing etc. Noel System: 9900X3D Noctua NH-D15 G2, MSI Pro 650-P WiFi, G.SKILL 64GB (2 x 32GB) 288-Pin PC RAM DDR5 6000, WD NVMe 2Tb x 1, Sabrent NVMe 2Tb x 1, RTX 4090 FE, Corsair RM1000W PSU, Win11 Home, LG Ultra Curved Gsync Ultimate 3440x1440, Phanteks Enthoo Pro Case, TCA Boeing Edition Yoke & TQ, Cessna Trim Wheel, RTSS Framerate Limiter w/ Front Edge Sync. But I was just curious, when I got these blurry airport textures, why are they only happening when approaching an airport, not departing? Does it typically get worse the longer you fly or something?
