Are the nights now dark in P3D 5.2 HF2?

Featured Replies

Hi all -

As you probably know, the "light source" which would illuminate terrain/wings etc. on a moonless night in P3D v5 irritates me to no end.

I was wondering if anyone has discovered whether or not dark nights are back in 5.2 HF2?  As in a moonless night should be pitch black?

Cheers,
Rudy

I think you mean latest 5.3HF2? It's pitch black on a moonless night, so much so that people have modded the HDR shader to make it a bit 'brighter' !

Oh yes.  That sounds like my sort of night!

Cheers

On my QLED TV, the night is pitch black.

That's good - but I can I ask- are your aircraft wings visible on, say, 1st Feb 2022 around Australia - a moonless night?

They should not be visible.

The sky looks black with EA off - with EA on there is some kind of haze?  Looks a bit grey-ish.  Anyone else see this also?  But the aircraft is lit up by some mystery light source.
