So on the HIFI Activesky the version you have is good for V5.1 HF1.

Official ASP3D Full Installer/Update 072621 (7877) (Supports P3D v5.2 HF1, v5.1 with HF1, P3D v5.0 with HF2, and P3D v4.5 with HF3)

So make sure you have at least HF1 of the version V5.1 P3D. Even if you update to the beta version you still need P3D V5.1 HF1

Hope that helps

Cheers Brian

hello

The Prepar3D v5.1 Hotfix 1 (5.1.12.26829) is the version i have      it was purchased on 2/27/21

and the activesky is 7877

Ok, so both programs are good. Did you install P3D as Admin? You need to also install Activesky as admin. Are both programs on same PC? Did you also run the connector program for activesky? (also as admin) Are you sure you are putting in the correct activation details?

Cheers Brian

Are you running the installer as 'administrator' ?

To run a program as administrator from the Start menu context menu, use these steps:

Open Start.

Right-click the app (anywhere on the menu).

Select the More submenu, and click the Run as administrator option.

ok

now i am a little confused         when i start the install process where would i see the admin thing?

i would have both programs on the same pc       i completely uninstalled activesky after the problem, so i am ready to start fresh

however i did not see the connector option                     i did see  the                  please choose the sim version       V4 or V5

i want to put it in the d drive which is where my sim is

Ok, So to install as admin, right click on the active sky setup program and you can choose administrator, I would not install activesky in the same folder as P3D, but you can install it on the same drive in its own folder. After you install activesky, go to the folder and there will be a program called ASP3DV5Connectorinstall.exe. Run that as admin (right click and choose administrator) It should install into your add-on folder for p3d. Then run activesky, put in your correct activation details. It should ask for the location of 3 folders. your P3d main folder (Prepar3d.exe) your applications data folder and common data export path (this where the weather txt file goes.

ok so i was able install       after i put my key in i get the following error

prepar3d location not found

We are unable to locate required folders/files

in my D drive i have 2 folders

ASP3D

Prepar3dV5

? and you absolutely sure that prepar3d.exe is in the folder >>Prepar3dV5 and not inside another folder?

Have you uninstalled and re-installed p3d recently? if so was on a different drive?

Can you check that there is not another p3d folder anywhere else like on the C drive, which is the default location unless you tell it where to install.

It sounds like windows is reporting the wrong location of p3d.

Ah yes, but is that info. in the registry?

OK, And did you install p3d as administrator? The p3d icon on the desktop should have a little blue and yellow shield on it.

Apart from that, I am at a loss, you may need to contact activesky support
