LHS Maddog 2006 Update v2.1 Released

Featured Replies

FYI, the much anticipated update to the LHS Maddog 2006 (v2.1) has dropped this morning. It includes the FSX version as well, although I haven't tried it yet. The Downloads page on the website hasn't been updated yet, but their forum is up to date. You have to redownload the full installer, now v2.1, along with the livery pack, from LHS or Simmarket. Even if you purchased from Simmarket, you can use the download-URL in your last registration e-mail and pull it directly from LHS.http://www.flythemaddog.com

I can't see any information about the VC.Does it have one?

From what I understand, it is next to be released. Bug fixes and FSX compatibility were the leading priorities. There's a few threads about the availability of the VC in their forums...

I'm really interested how it is on the FPS in FSX. I read it was an issue even in FS9 (without VC).Thanks.

From what I remember, there were two display sliders within the MD2006 Control panel (can't remember which ones off the top of my head) that had issues. If these particular sliders were set anywhere above "best performance" they would kill your FPS. It wasn't a big issue becuase they were minimal guages. Again, I believe these were targeted bug fixes in the service pack, but I won't know 'til later this evening. I can tell you during the install of v2.1, the readme says a gauge was tweaked for more recent processors and if you're running an Athelon, you need to rename one of the newely installed guages.

For me frame rates are excellent in FSX. I was really expecting a huge drop in my rates, but departing Gatwick with AI on 90% I had good rates all the way. No stutters and as smooth as silk :-jumpy. I may even start using FSX now, as I have up till now always used FS9..!!Although no 3D panel as yet but then I never use them anyway.Oh by the way my setup Athlon 4200+ dual core and 2Gb RAM. 256Mb 7600GT.Keith

In FS9, my first v2.1 flight had aboslutely no hits on FPS with all the my graphics, AI, and addons going full-tilt into KATL. I did have the MD control panel "display" sliders set at "Normal" for a firt run.
