Baron G58 Engine startup

Featured Replies

I am using the Honeycomb Alpha Yoke. Is there a way to start the twin engines one at a time, ie first the right then the left?  I seem to remember a keyboard shortcut to separate them 🤔 or was that P3D

I don't know if it works in MSFS but you could hit E +1 and then E+2 in FSX and P3D. Try hitting E+2 and then turn the start switch on then Alpha and see what happens. Let us know if it works.

????  I routinely use the mouse to individually start each of the Baron's engines. Successfully.  One at a time.

Try UNbinding any and all engine starter commands from the Honeycomb switches, and then try using the mouse again. Having them bound to the Honeycomb will probably mean that the Honeycomb is forcing the magnetos to the off position, or whichever position your Honeycomb is currently in while attempting to use the mouse.

Yes. Great point.  I believe I unbound that Alpha rotary switch on about my third day of ownership.

Thanks all for your help. My main aircraft of choice is Rob Young's Bonanza, so for the few times I fly the Baron ( which apparentley used to be called the "Twin engined Bonanza" )   I think I'll leave things as they are. Once again Thanks

Yes. The RYTB is also my current go-to aircraft. I logged quite a number of MSFS hours early on in the Baron, but the RYTB flies better, at around the same cruise speeds, and with just over half the fuel consumption.  The Baron is buried in my hangar and has been since I did a clean reinstall of MSFS around July 1 of last year.  The RYTB is an absolute win, win, win.

The twin bonanza is a totally different plane btw which very few were made (1000). It has a retractable air staircase and had a bench in the bank with velvet. Some people like them…as a baron 58 owner, they are ugly as sin
