February 9, 20224 yr Hi, this is my first yoke and the setup has been very confusing for me. I think I have the pitch and roll assigned correctly now, but what should all of the buttons be assigned as? Is there a standard list of what they should be for general aviation planes? Also, when I first set it up I didn’t realize the yoke wasn’t fully seated and connected. It took me a while to find out that’s why it wasn’t even working at all. When I tried to seat it fully I noticed the black plastic piece inside wasn’t centered in there. I had to pry it down a bit so I could get the yoke fully seated, so hopefully that didn’t damage it. Once I had it fully seated, it worked in the windows game controller config but nothing was assigned in MSFS. I thought it was because I had already started MSFS without the yoke fully seated and that had screwed the controller profile up. So then I spent hours trying to reinstall MSFS and clear my cloud save data so I could start fresh with the yoke fully seated, but of course that didn’t work either as I’ve come to find out there is no default profile for the yoke at all. I’m loving the feel and quality of the yoke but needless to say the software side of things has been a bit of a nightmare. Thank you for any help with what these buttons should be and any other tips in general.
February 9, 20224 yr Congratulations with your first yoke. I upgraded to this yoke a little over a a year now and have no regrets. I do hope nothing was damaged but perhaps Chris can comment on that. As to assigning buttons: MSFS has no default assignments for this yoke yet but here are some instructions for a possible setup for MSFS: instructions1.ai (fulcrumsim.com). This is a practical setup if you are just using a yoke and no other controllers. If you have other controllers as well you might want to change a few things but it is a good start. February 9, 20224 yr There is no software as such for this yoke as it uses a standard Windows interface. You have the pitch and roll axis configured. The buttons are all up to your and largely depends on what you are flying. For an example, I use the left rocker switch to control elevator trim up and down. The right rocker switch for rudder trim. The left hat switch I use to control position in cockpit e.g. to move my POV left right, up or down since I already use Tobii to control my view otherwise I would map the POV hat to various views. I use diagonal up right to zoom in and diagonal down left to zoom out. For the remaining 4 buttons - two on each side, I don't recall all that I have mapped but one is for reset cockpit view and one is to toggle head tracking. Hope this helps a bit. February 9, 20224 yr Commercial Member Hi @bytor33, I'm glad you got the yoke set up and are enjoying the quality. With regards to button configuration, this is currently out of our hands. We have a default profile written for both MSFS and Xplane and we are waiting on them being included in the software. This means that for now you have to manually set up the button assignments. We have found that people tend to prefer different ones so end up changing them anyway. I saw your post and had gone to get the link to our support page and by the time I came back @orchestra_nl and @Donka had replied with the link and details! Thanks guys. If you reference this guide MSFS Settings which is available on our support section of our website here, it shows you the axis settings and also suggested button assignments. February 9, 20224 yr Author Thanks guys, that guide and suggestions are helpful. I notice for the ailerons and elevator axis it has the reverse axis box unchecked. Mine was checked by default but isn’t reversed in the game so not sure what’s going on with that setting. Also, I received my yoke in April 2021 but didn’t have a PC to use it until now. As it’s one of the early ones, are there any things I should be aware of that are different/fixed with the new batches coming out?
