G1000 NXI Changes route

Featured Replies

I have a route created in Little Navmap saved as a pln. When I load it in MSFS it looks fine on the home Map screen, but when I see the same flight plan in G1000 NXI it has weird waypoints going in unrealistic directions. Any ideas as to why.

Are you using the same Airac for both the sim and LNM?. This could be your problem.

Cheers, Ed

Is MSFS picking and choosing a published departure or arrival that you did not choose?  That is clearly happening to me.  Watch the flight plan closely before you choose Fly Now!  It is happening to me there, not later in the NXi.

Thanks Guys. Interestingly I used to see a quick pop up when loading LNM after I updated airac's from NaviGraph, I don't see that now. And yes, I've just noticed the Departure is not part of the LNM route. Setting it to "Direct" has made it more as expected

On the world map, are do you see VFR or IFR (upper left)? I did find that if it shows IFR then I got a different flight plan.

One way to avoid weird flight plan issues is to only select a destination airport in LNM or the built in MSFS planner without selecting an approach.

Once you're in the aircraft you can load an arrival with the PROC button on the Nxi.

On my World Map it says IFR. Going to give JSmith's idea a try later. Thanks Guys

You can use direct instead of IFR if it's a short route and it should be fine.

One more thing when you select the approach in the Nxi is to look at the map preview to see the different transitions available - some of the transitions may you lead you off course.
