Hotas Warthog and FBW

Featured Replies

I got a new PC and some of my settings didn't translate over.  Is there any instruction on there on how to calibrate the hotas warthog for the FBW?  I was never able to get the reverse gate to work but I was always able to be at idle on the thrust lever and have it represent idle in the sim.  On my new PC, idle on the thrust lever represents full reverse  and half way up the lever is idle.  Any tips on what I need to do?  Is this a EFB thing or a controls setup / calibration type thing?  Thanks!

You can calibrate the Hotas Warthog, or any other lever in the EFB of the FBW under the settings tab. It is easy to do...

Here are more detailed instructions:

Most of what is said on the Internet may be the same thing they shovel on the regular basis at the local barn.

I have an X56, which doesn't have the physical stops/detents that my X52 Pro did, so there's no tactile feedback telling you when you were at idle (or idle reverse).

What I did was to *not* have the reverser set to the main throttle axis and set a throttle toggle/button to engage the reverser. So .. my sequence is:

1) Throttle down to idle.
2) Flip the reverser toggle (switch on the throttle base) to ON.
3) Throttle up to full (reverse).
4) When almost stopped, throttle right back then toggler the reverse switch back to OFF.
5) Throttle up slightly for taxiing.

I've also mapped another switch/button on the base to retract the spoilers.

The trick is to get your calibration/detents done properly in the FlyPad - or you'll be all over the place!

I will have to go through this again.  There wasn’t anything specific for the warthog so I was wondering if anyone had success with it. I had it working on my old pc but thought I tried everything on my new machine but couldn’t get it to rest at idle on the lever without it going into reverse

In the FBW Flypad calibration page, set the option "Reverser on Axis" to OFF.

Which command do you use to toggle the reversers?

In p3d I used the actual reverse axis on the throttle by pulling up and back.  I never was able to get that to work in msfs so I just used f1 and f2

I have mine set (in the keyboard section) to "/". I also have it mapped to a specific throttle toggle switch (in the throttle section) but, for some reason, that doesn't work - so I programmed it to send a "/" keystroke instead.
