VOXATC Indexer issue

I've seen this happening to others since 2013  but this is actually a fresh installation

Win 11- P3D v5.3 - PMDG NGu - non addon sceneries as yet but when I attempt to run the indexer it hangs after seconds.

Any help would be very appreciated

Thanks

Regards, Maz

Disable the first scenery in your library. If it happens again after that have a look at the indexer and it will show you the path to the file that hangs so you remove that put it back later. keep doing that until indexer is complete

By Scenery do you perhaps mean "scenario" ?  it seems to hang on "C\Program Files\Lockheed Martin\P3dV5\weather\themes" so there is very little I can remove from there other than the complete folder.

Anyway, the point is that the developers should have spotted this don't you think ?

There are problems in every single add on since the advent of p3dv5 and after 3 weeks and a few hundred $ later, I still have to use my old P3Dv2.4

I do not understand ...... you have had "problems" with VocATC since you started using 64 bit P3D5 (alongside 32 bit P3D2) & you are not using the P3D5 version of VoaxATC.

Confused to say the least.

for now, cheers

The indexer I'm sure has been tested in the first by the developer on a "native / stock" version of P3D5 ..... ie with no addons & windows default 64 bit voices.

The indexer reads not only scenery but also traffic and simobject files to compile many data files for its AI & ATC features.

I can only suggest as @zmak has to try a line of eliminations of these after checking there is no conflict with the P3D2 install (one assumes it's on the same pc).

But then again, why the indexer hangs at the end of its part one journey (ie does no processing of files found) is a mystery to me ... though maybe worth a check of the panel.cfg install.

for now, cheers

As I stated in the post this is a clean install on a fresh SSD no conflicts with pre existing software as there are none - I have 5 brand new ssd one of which has Win 10 installed and seems to have lesser problems like EZca (ezdoc) works there where it does Not on win 11.

One still uses the only problem free windows 7 where I keep P3Dv 2 and all older add ons since I payed again for every new add on this year.

I am struggling with the same issue. The indexer hangs on weather/themes.

P3d v5.3

I have tried to deactivate one, several and all addons. Nothing works.

Did anyone manage to find a solution to this issue?

Hello friends, I solved this problem like this;

Finally I found a solution for this problem. The VOXATC indexer gets stuck at different positions when you run it and the cause for me was none of the above BUT when I went into the Scenery library (I use P3D v4.5) and was looking at all scenery files added, and trust me I have thousands of files here including add-ons. I found a very special thing.
Some scenery areas were listed twice or more!!!
So I began to remove these duplicate, simply highlight them and press delete button in the Scenery menu (right side once you high lighted it) installations in the list and went through the list very thoroughly until I only had each scenery in the list ONCE and no scenery with an added (2) or (3) or any number within ( ).
Then I shut down P3D to desktop and ran VOXATC indexer again and no problem, no hangup, nothing it managed to index everything very well. The indexer ran without any problem.

So my guess is, check your Scenery library within P3D or whatever simulator you use. If you find one area listed twice or more, delete so you only have one of each scenery area and try to run the indexer again. Sadly I did not take any photos or screenshots bit if anyone need assistance, contact me and I can guide you, as long as you use P3D I can give you exact details.

To make it very clear, NO scenery file has added number at the end of the file name within brackets (x) when the x is any number. Just remove those files from the list but keep the main scenery file without any added numbers, then it will work.

Fly safe fellows!

I am more than curious as to how you had that "duplication" of the same named afcad.bgl's ........ part of what the indexer needs to read runway/taxi/parking calls.

Were they "created" & added to the scenery.cfg by another addon and / or were you trying to have options for different runway use at your airports.

I use batch files to swap afcads (eg to have acceptable downwind ops for required noise abatement & as predicted by TAF's) ...... but each swap requires a reindex.

for now, cheers
