February 21, 20224 yr I recently upgraded my PC. My old specs are in my signature. Not being a very technical person, could my old PC, or components such as the GPU be used together with my new PC? If that is possible, what would the benefits of running 2 PC"s be, or 2 GPU's be, etc.? Or would it just be better to sell some of the components? My old system is still pretty good so I don't want to let it go to waste. Sorry for the dumb question! February 21, 20224 yr GPU yes. SSD'S or hard drive are also a yes. Memory I doubt it but may be, would have to know the specs of the new system to know that. 2 GPUs yes, but it is not worth it. You could run SLI (2 GPUs). Your motherboard and power supply will have to support that. You will need to buy an SLI bridge to connect both cards. I have not done sli since the GTX660 days and back then both cards had to be the same, such as both 2070s. SLI is a pain for the technically savy and there just is not much to be gained. It was something 10-15 years ago. 9950X3D, PNY 5090, 64GB DDR5 6000, MSI X870-P, GIGABYTE AORUS Gen5 2TB NVMe, 3440x1440 AW3423DW gsync ultimate.
February 21, 20224 yr You could use the 2nd PC networked for running Simconnect programs. I have a networked laptop where I run SPAD.neXt, FSFlightControl or LittleNavmap or occasionally others on a 2nd screen. PSXSeecontraffic can be run networked as well. This depends on your intention though. Now that I fly more and more under VR I see less need for a 2nd screen.
