February 21, 20224 yr Since last update when i click on my MSFS desktop icon it opens MS gaming Services app instead i have to restart my pc to get MSFS running again anyone?
February 21, 20224 yr yes, there is an update in the Microsoft Store for Gaming services, but trying to install it shows this error message: "Something happened on our end". I think best to just wait and retry later. February 21, 20224 yr My advice: Step 1 - Check MS Store to make sure Gaming Services and Xbox app are up to date. Step 2 - Start>Settings>Apps & Features>Microsoft Flight Simulator>Advanced Options>Repair [That is the process for Win11. IIRC the path (or maybe just the appearance on-screen) is slightly different in Win10 but you should find it easy enough] If that fails... Step 3 - Download the Win 10 Media Creation Tool or Win 11 Media Creation Tool (depending what OS you are using) by clicking on "Download Tool Now" and follow the instructions the tool gives, making sure to select the option to retain your files and apps. This doesn't wipe Windows or delete anything, it's actually a repair rather than installation tool when used this way. If it works, you should then be able to launch the sim successfully. This step solves many issues with the sim not starting or failing to update. February 21, 20224 yr I had a similar issue. I went to the xbox page, where I am able to click the play button. From this point on, the shorcut worked as it should. I think, as some have said, some update screwed it up.

May 31, 20224 yr I just had this happen to me when I tried to open MSFS to check if the H-Jet was in the MP yet. Repair didn't help but clicking on Reset did the trick and MSFS is opening again. And no, the H-Jet isn't there yet.
