On final feature

Featured Replies

How do I get to the "On final" feature in X plane 11? I want to practice Autopilot approach but skip the rest of the flight...X plane has a 3 mile and 10 mile approach??? or something like that??

Click on "Customize" in the airport selection screen, and then select the appropriate runway and either the "3nm" or "10nm" final.

depends what you want to do.

For testing the 744/AuoATC i start 10nm approach on the runway opposite of the one I want to land on, them join the pattern for the one I want to land on.

if you 10nm in a tube or 3nm in GA, you are basically either landing or doing a go around, there is no time for anything else.

The feature is very simple and will likely not work with many more sophisticated custom aircraft. Many systems are not set up correctly and no, certainly it won´t fill in a flight plan in your FMS 🤣.

It is useful for simple aircraft like the Cessna 172 or the B58 Baron - anything more complex should be set up like this:

Take off, then configure the aircraft for an approach. Now pause, open the map, click on the plane, drag it to the desired position (adjust heading and altitude as well) and then unpause.
