KING AIR PROPS

Featured Replies

Now that we have a real prop feather feature in a few planes, including the King Air, I am trying to figure out how to make it happen. I am using a CH Products Throttle Quadrant. Using the sim's control setup, I can't get the prop control to come all the way down into the feather position. Does anyone know how to do this?

Thanks

In the prop controller axis configuration you to create a Beta + Reverse region.

I don't think ASOBO has successfuly found a way to correctly model beta range, but reverse can be toggled.

You set the "PROPELLER AXIS" which will give you the course from MAX RPM to top of the BETA RANGE.

Then you have to set a key / button for "TOGGLE PROPELLER REVERSE THRUST".

That will do it.

Prop feathering works great on the caravan using my bravo levers. But it doesn’t work on the king air whether I use bravo or the mouse. It did work during flight but doesn’t on the ground while engine shut down. The levers are clearly in the feather region but blades don’t move to feather while shut down.

Also the king air has too much idle thrust so I dialed the thrust down by 30% in the engines.cfg file.

The feathering issue is strange. It seemed to work first time I tried after SU8. But after a while it stopped working.

I like the night cabin lights asobo has added but they don’t work with JD mod. Just a heads up.

Thanks, but I have the reverse working just like you say, but I am asking about the FEATHER feature.

Strato, it feathers when on a stopped engine you ser prop reverse thrust to max ( full down ).

Apparently the auto-feather isn't working correctly in the default 350i

I have assigned two of my controller buttons, one to engage throttle reverse, the other to engage prop reverse.
