New Guy Approach Help

Featured Replies

So, Im new, not new to flight sims, I go back as far as the dos version of Dam Busters. I started back flying on MSFS back about two weeks ago after about 10 plus year break. Flying the supercub at first getting to know the program and what not. Now to the question.

Last night, I took the TMB930 out for a GPS flight. I set the flight plan in the main map screen, got the plane fired up and put in way-points into the little screen below the MDF. Not a problem. Took off and a way we went. I past the last waypoint coming into the airport, it was about 50 miles away so I wanted to set the Approach. Go back into and the small screen, go to the approach procedures for the ILS Runway that I wanted and then all of the sudden, the auto pilot starts swinging me around to the previous waypoint that is at my six. What did I do wrong. I could not get the system to fly the next waypoint. Im sure its me, Im not sure of what to do.  Any advise would be great.

Thanks in advance,

Usually there is an initial approach fix for your selected approach. It is quite possible that, when you activated the approach, you were past that fix and the a/p turned you around to go there first.

There was also a bug in MSFS that caused that - I thought that it had been fixed.  I'm sure others will comment.

Generally, look at the approach and your current position - activate the approach before you get to the IAF and you should be ok.

Thank you sir, that kind of makes a bit of since.

Have you installed the Working Title G3000 Mod? If not, definitely do so. Same with the G1000NXi, which is even more modified and a must have. That version can be found for free in the market place. The G3000, you'll need to go to their site: https://www.workingtitle.aero/packages/

On a number of occasions I have installed both these packages - with the result that  - in my Longtitude for example

- The aircraft will not power up - with all screens blank. When I delete the mods in community - all lights up again

I have noticed on watching other videos - that the 3000 is different to what works in my aircraft - e.g. FMS is

available in the left hand pad - and i also have the same problems as the OP - at the end of a flight.

Since I read above - I have downloaded the 3000 mod again and the same "no power" -  but not the G1000 mod
