Hi all, just purchased the Real Taxiways USA however I notice that the signs base are different BUT the signs itself seem still like the default style signs which are really bright and annoying. Any advice? Ive checked my mods and dont have any taxi sign mods installed besides this one.

You are right Bill, they look the same to me too. Can't think of anything since you see nothing else in Mods. Did you recycle the game just in case.

I ended up taking everything out of the mods folder just to verify everything is removed except sound mods and this mod. The same default taxiway signs are still present. I have rebooted the sim multiple times.

Is this a stock or add-on airport? I would imagine the mod works mainly on stock airports <?>, as payware addons might use their own.

This is for stock airports, checked KSAN and KLAX

I don't have the mod, so can't do a comparison. The odd thing is that I think the stock signs look better (!!): the type is better laid out.

I notice that the lettering and numbers have a black outline with this mod,the stock does not, so what I gave currently does not have the black outline

There is a fix. I’m trying to find it for you. I went through the same thing. 

1. Go to your community folder.
2. Find the bksq package folder for the product (bksq-us-bcde, bksq-euro etc)
3. In this folder go to scenery\Global\Asobo_Props\TEXTURE
4. Copy TAXI_SIGN_SYMBOL.PNG.DDS.
5. Go to your official folder. Official\Steam for the steam version and official\onestore for the store version
6. In this folder go to \fs-base\scenery\Global\Asobo_Props\TEXTURE
7. Find the TAXI_SIGN_SYMBOL.PNG.DDS file and rename it by adding .bak at the end (this is optional, but necessary if you want to restore the original textures later)
8. Paste the file you copied before.
9. Note that if you have several bksq packages installed you only need to do this once as all packages use the same shared sign texture

 

To get the back of the taxi sign textures if you have installed the optional textures option you will also need to do the same thing but with \Community\bksq-optional-textures\scenery\global\asobo_props\texture\TAXI_SIGN_BACK_ALBEDO.PNG.DDS instead. The ground textures seem to work fine as-is.

Well, there was an update today to the real taxi sign  mod, installed it and now back to default textures again...followed Heavy1216 instructions with no luck. Was working just fine before 

Also taxi.signs have not writing but it's just a textures pink and white color. Like it's missing textures now too

 

UPDATE: its working now after Just Flight sent me a texture fix executable
