It's a known problem but, as far as I am aware, there isn't a known solution. Seeing as Ken Salter has been AWOL for months I doubt whether we ever will have a resolution.

I have the same thing but I just carry on as FSautostart still starts FSX. I always assumed that the "unable to allocate message" came because there may be some things that can't be re-allocated. IIRC I had a similar message in FS9.John

John...Your post means good news for me. This means that FSAutostart works with FSX. Now obviously, there will not be a list of services to shut down, since Mr. Salter wrote this long before Vista. Can you share a list of services you are shutting down in Vista? OMIGOSH... I just realized, you may be using XP. If so, possibly someone else can let me know if FSAutostart is working with Vista.Thank you,Steve

Sorry Pastorpilot but I didn't fall for the Vista trap I'm using XP Home. My copy of Vista lies on my "bits shelf" grounded for the time being. Blackviper did a great write up of XP services and their relevance perhaps the same holds true for VISTA. I haven't got Blackviper's site bookmarked you might like to try to Google it.John
