No ATC voices...

... but my "own" today!

Server issue or a problem on my end?

Anyone else having this issue?

I constantly have issues with ATC. I would hear ATC voices in the first 20 min of a flight then it goes away and my co-pilot voice would be the only sound I would hear with it's reply. So annoying and kills the immersion

This problem has been there for ages. If the flight is long enough there is a >50% chance that you stop receiving both written and voice ATC communications.
If you have let the AI copilot handle ATC you will still hear/read him respond but ATC doesn't talk to you nor anyone else.

If you open the ATC window you can see several lines where your AI copilot has responded to invisible and inaudible ATC messages.
You can also see your reply options greying out as if ATC is trying to communicate to someone but nothing is heard nor seen.

That is exactly what is happening in my case but it never happened before SU8.

Maybe it will be fixed in SU9.

It happens often, but I have switched to always using offline voices for ATC and it happens less often. The downside is you have to put up with Minnie Mouse, Miss Piggy, Rocky Bullwinkle and Wolfman Jack doing the voices! But it is more reliable than the Azure ATC.

SU9 does have a few ATC related changes but none of these address this issue specifically so I am not hopefull.

Still, removing the "expedite your climb" messages might free up some resources. Changing the text-to-speech engine might also change some code in the ATC engine somehow fixing this issue as well but these are a long shot.

I hope Asobo will consider a big ATC overhaul sometime, with a new engine including speech recognision, dialects and off course more realistic ATC orders and suggestions.
