May 23, 200719 yr I've been playing around. I've eliminated any blurries (with Jets) but I've never had them in slow GA aircraft. My 2 best tweaks have been to adjust TEXTURE MULTI BANDWIDTH to 200 and my FIBER FRAME TIME FRACTION to 0.22. However, all is smooth and textures load great...ONLY in cockpit view. When I switch to spot view (one of my favorite views) the plane stutters every few seconds. This reminds me of when I play back a REPLAY. That always stuttered.Now...if only I can figure that view out, I will have "arrived".ps. I hope this helps those who are truly experts in this "tweaking business"
May 23, 200719 yr I notice everytime I start FSX the TMB is reset at 30. I'm not sure how much control the user ACTUALLY has with the cfg anymore. I still use it but max's out at maybe 120(best guess) because of the way how autogen is generated in a 2km circle around the aircraft apparently because of a value called TEXTURE_MAX_LOAD that has been enabled in SP-1. There is more detail about this at the forums at simviation.
May 23, 200719 yr Sorry to sound like a parrot... Stan, are your stutters gone, when you set your texture multi bandwidth to the default value (that is 40 for me) ? May 23, 200719 yr Stan, the FIBER_FRAME setting is not now required since SP1. Certainly not for Dula core machines as SP1 now utilizes both cores. Dave Taylor
May 23, 200719 yr OK...I remove Fiber Frame from config, and revert back to 40 on Texture Multi Bandwidth, but the stutters are still there, and noticeable mostly in Spot View. I still think maybe it's related to my sound card...because when I see the stutter, I also "hear" it in the sound. It just could be this Creative X-Fi card (has Vista Drivers). Perhaps I'll try another Sound Card....any suggestions for Vista?
May 23, 200719 yr My 2 best>tweaks have been to adjust TEXTURE MULTI BANDWIDTH to 200 and>my FIBER FRAME TIME FRACTION to 0.22. >I have "arrived" at the same spot as you - and on the same day it seems...without checking this post earlier, ironic.I went to 200 and .20 for fiber frame and it works. I know people are saying fiber frame does nothing...but maybe its just me, I noticed a difference with it there, and in NOT changing a thing - its running like butter right now....and thats a good thing.Danon O.
May 23, 200719 yr Author You can kill the stuttering in "Replay" by setting the view to Fixed Spot View (F11).Thomas[a href=http://www.flyingscool.com] http://www.flyingscool.com/images/Signature.jpg [/a]I like using VC's :-)N15802 KASH '73 Piper Cherokee Challenger 180 Tom Perry
