MCE and Amazon Polly

Featured Replies

Happy eastern to all

Has anybody already tried and succeded to integrate Amazon Polly into MCE?
Amazon's voices sound very pleasant and besides are cheaper than Cereprocs.

I don't know ...... but I understand Amazon Polly voices aren't SAPI5 compliant & hence not "useable" in MCE (maybe I'm wrong)

I have invested in so many Cereproc's / Harpo's / Ivonna's over the years, all of which are "great" with MCE but also with other "complimentary" ATC addons etc.

for now, cheers

That's somewhat disappointing to hear...

I was just about to post this exact question.

John, you are right
After some research had to learn that Amazon Polly offers only 64bit voices whereas MCE needs 32bit voices.

Anyway will stay with MCE

Oh my, I wish Polly worked within MCE. Any chance MCE will be upgraded to a 64 bit version, so it can use them?

It may happen later.

We already have a 64 Bit app "Simco64_Ldr.exe" which talks to MSFS in 64 Bit.

All MCE code in files that are compiled to 32 Bit can be eventually compiled to 64 Bit.

Not keen on it right now as not only do we provide 10 human recorded voice packs (4600+ recordings per pack), but also plenty of TTS voices in 32 Bit.

And don't forget some users (obviously doesn't apply to MSFS)  are still on Win 7 32 Bit. They won't be able to run th e latest versions.
