A330 and FBW 320

Did I miss something on a new A330 being available in the sim? All of a sudden an Airbus 330 is in the hanger? Also I understand that it is not study level but it is incredibly smooth and ZERO spikes (Red) in the FPS in Developer mode?

You probably downloaded it... there is a A330 mod based on the FBW A320 (but much less study level).

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

The A330 is more or less using much of the FBW A320 source code. Not that it matters, since the FBW team has deliberately made their source code public and if a project uses the FBW code, it must also be a free project and not be used for commercial means, I believe.

The best part of MSFS is that source code is being made public to use on other projects, so those projects don't have to reinvent the wheel.  FBW code, Working Title code, etc.  This is great, because we get better planes, such as the A330, in a shorter time period.

If it is the same code I wonder why it is so smooth compared to FBWa320?

It's based on the older "Stable" branch instead of the more feature rich Dev and Experimental branches, which also might have bugs etc contributing to lower performance at times due to the in development nature of them.
