Hi folks,
I’m looking at buying the following system, keep in mind budget is a huge factor and I absolutely have to stay within a certain budget. Looking to see what is the general opinion on the following system: ( fyi I’m coming from my system in my sig, my computer is only used for flight simming, and I only use msfs, no other sims, no VR for me )

  • Operating System: Windows 10 Home
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-11700F Rocket Lake 2.5GHz (4.9GHz Turbo) 8-Core 16-Thread
  • GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB (
  • Motherboard: ASUS Prime B560M-A
  • RAM: 16GB DDR4 3000MHz (2x8GB)
  • SSD: 1TB M.2 NVMe SS
  • PSU: 650W 80 Plus Gold (Brand May Vary)
  • Case: DEEPCOOL MATREXX 50 ADD-RGB 4F Mid-Tower Case 4x120mm ADD-RGB Fans, Full-size Tempered Glass Side And Front Panel
  • WiFi: Yes
  • Bluetooth: Yes
  • VR Ready: Yes

Any thoughts on this budget system?

It's pretty decent.  What monitor resolution?

I’ll have to upgrade my monitor, I’m only running at 1080 and it doesn’t look all that great to be honest. I’m planning on going with a 1440 monitor.

Should be ok - I wouldn't go over 1440P though.  I run that res as well on my 1080 ti.

Pretty good for a budget build, will run 1440p MFS fine but SSD is too small at 1TB, you need 2TB as few big name releases will soon fill up the space. Or a second drive.

16 GB RAM is really the absolute minimum, 32 GB would give some headroom and futureproof. 650W PSU doesn't leave much scope for upgrading to a faster graphics card later either as 4000 series are rumoured to be very power hungry, an 850W would cover you for any upgrades you fancy in future.

I agree with these points.  He should be okay with a 1TB presuming he only uses the sim and its associated addons.  I went with 2x 2TB M.2's for my recent build because I still use other software.

I do only use my pc for simming and nothing else… also as you responded to my other topic post on building, I’m contemplating a build instead of this, still not completely decided yet though lol!
