Replay Tool

Featured Replies

Hello,

What’s the current opinion on replay tools? I’m looking to record and playback in external view, hopefully in decent quality and it matching flaps down, spoilers deployed etc…

I see there’s one in Dev tools but the top bar annoys me. I also see a couple on flightsim.to and a paid for one which looks a little clunky.

Thankful for any suggestions.

Mike,

I would highly recommend SkyDolly! I use it for all my videos and have never had a problem with it. You can playback and view the recording with any camera available in the sim. It is also free!

Hi Doering. I’m quite interested in this.

I’ve been using the freeware one and whilst it’s pretty good it has it’s quirks.

Does SkyDolly reproduce the cockpit control movements accurately?

One of the freeware tools shortcomings is that in the replay the throttles are continuously moving; like some manic toddler is at the controls.

Does SkyDolly do this?

@DD_Arthur You will be pleasantly surprised with the reproduction of cockpit controls! Hands down, this is the best recorder available and I have tried many. There are no maniacs on the throttles. There are no quirky movements with the a/c that I have used it with including the Skymaster, the Staggerwing and the 310R. In addition, the program runs outside of the sim! Keep the program in the folder of your choice (mine is in my download folder!)

Thanks. Going to give this a whirl now.

Sky Dolly is good. The reproduction of flight controls, control surfaces seems to depend on the aircraft.

For example, with the FSW 414 it captures pretty much everything. However, it does not work with the A320 by Fenix (I suspect that's because of the external program used with this aircraft).

I've looked at FlightControlReplay and it seems to work well, if you can learn how to use it. OTOH, I've watch tutorial streams where it crashed itself and MSFS repeatedly. Maybe better now? The stream was from 6 months ago.
