  1. Thank you to all of you for taking the time. I'll digest all the information a bit more this coming weekend and will start with the demo.
  2. Hello, First of all, I feel a little out of my depth on this sub forum. I’ve only ever used MS or P3D. Most recently MS24. As time goes on, I’d prefer realism over anything else. 1. Performance wise, is XP12 harder on my PC than 24? (13900k & 4070Ti) 2. Will my WinCtrl hardware just work? 3. Is buying scenery a thing for this sim or is it just a case of default and enjoy good fps? 4. Do external things like ChasePlane exist? I really do apologise for my laziness in asking these questions, but, it would be really good to hear from people who have made the switch from one platform to another for realism reasons, and if it has actually been worth it and easy. Thank you, Mike
  3. A few discrepancies my end too. I use ActiveSky and was flying in Europe but the QNH was quite far away from what the VATSIM controllers were reporting.
  4. Same question from me. Any mention of this during the stream?
  5. Virgin were often flying the 747 up and down the UK to position flights for their EGCC operation. Granted, that's not the 346, but you'd regularly see empty heavies in UK airspace. Less so nowadays, as the Manchester operation is more regular and they use their down-route locations (eg, MCO) to switch UK airports. Eg, MAN-MCO-LHR.
  6. Is it easy to setup controls and assign the Airbus thrustmaster throttle to operate all 4 engines? I don’t really mind either way, but if it was straightforward, I’ll buy it later. If it’s more convoluted, I’ll do it on the weekend.
  7. Presumably, the cityscape doesn't interfere with VHHX? Thanks
  8. Ask the controller and they’ll usually accommodate. Just don’t have any peculiar requests at a busy event.
  9. Odd take. Having flown in these areas on VATSIM, 99% of the time its flight simmers not having a clue what they’re doing taking up the frequency time. Unsure of the last time you flew in South UK, but London Control is now split quite a bit and some only provide coverage above FLxxx.
  10. Hi, I’ve only ever used VATSIM & PilotEdge. Both are extremely good services. I’d avoid the big events for your first outing. On the whole, just make sure you know your routing and know your aircraft. Providing you brief yourself before the flight, nothing will surprise you. I go through the Simbrief pages and just check VOR names etc, as often controllers will shortcut you direct Barnes rather than spelling out BAF. Know how to hold. You mention DAL, so I’m guessing you’re US-based. In the US, they send your IFR clearance when you login which makes life a little easier. The ramp is not controlled, and you don’t need to call for push unless you’re going back onto an active taxiway. Check the most likely taxi routing from your position - again, brief. I don’t know the quality of the ai ATC services, so I’m unsure how forgiving they are, but if you’re flying in a busy VATSIM patch and the controller is having to tell you something for the third time, don’t expect them to be happy. Unsure if they still do it, but there used to be a VATSIM first wings event. Finally, watch a YouTube of someone on the network. TL/DR: be prepared.
  11. Not essential but I recommend you team ChasePlane up with a StreamDeck
  12. From the point of departure, unless you’ve enabled failures, no, there’s no point at all. If you’re flying on VATSIM at a busy event, then yes, there’s more scope to use the feature. But, ultimately, fuel accordingly.
  13. Thanks all. I picked this up from the other forum… ”People have eliminated it by turning off physics-based camera movements in ChasePlane’s settings.”
  14. Hello, I'm having a shaking issue that's coming from either RealTurb, PMDG or CP. I have my turbulence reality set to low in the sim itself. This is actually quite minor. I'm slightly annoyed I didn't get the harsher video that almost throws me out of the cockpit. If you have 10seconds, would you mind watching this video and offering your thoughts? There wasn't any controlled input - I was on the other side of the room. I'm thinking it's RealTurb and CP not gelling, so I'll uninstall RealTurb for my next flight, but as I only have time to "fly" once a month, I was hoping I could get a head start. Thanks, Mike
