Flew the TBM 850 from Mt Airy, North Carolina to Saranac Lake in upstate NY this afternoon.  Wx forecasts and satellite imagery agreed that I should've seen clear skies over the entire flight until I was close to my destination.  What actually happened was clear skies on departure rapidly giving way to a completely solid layer beneath me (I was at FL230) by the time I got into W Virginia, persisting into southern Pennsylvania.  Towards central Penn, it gradually became broken and finally scattered.  Somewhere near the Philipsburg (PSB) VOR, the scattered clouds below me abruptly vanished and I finally had the clear skies satellite imagery indicated I should see.  After that, everything was as expected, including the expected clouds in NY.

I don't recall seeing the wx this blatantly wrong before.  Anyone else seeing any weather weirdness today?

Flying in Alaska an seems OK.  Good winds out of the North as expected.

A few discrepancies my end too. I use ActiveSky and was flying in Europe but the QNH was quite far away from what the VATSIM controllers were reporting. 

The live weather in this game isn't much better than the live weather in Tiger Woods PGA 10.

I switched from Live to Typical Weather because the winds are more favorable.  😆

Talk about weird weather, the temp is 20F above normal here at 91F IN MARCH for 10 days so far!  The weather folks are calling it the new abnormal.

It just seems to happen every once in awhile.  Some time ago, our real world weather was terrible, low ceilings, mist/rain all weekend.  I was walking my dog and watching the planes break out at a few hundred feet.  This weather lasted all weekend, but MSFS was clear with a few puffy clouds.  This lasted for days.  I was looking to some IFR practice, but the sim weather was mostly clear.  

It is one of the reasons I switched to ActiveSky.  

I get my local weather from various sources and they rarely match.
