New addon neighborhoods allows photogrammetry in X-Plane 12
I certainly don’t think it’s a bad addition – but it would, of course, be a lot easier with an interface featuring a map where you could simply select the area and configure the rest of the settings in a separate tab – that would make the tool a lot easier to use – but you have to be grateful for every little help, especially when I think about how tedious it was to import all my photogrammetry buildings via add-ons in Blender! - I still need to try it out – I’ve already got a Google API key!

Older Lighting in XP12 - Easy Way To Adjust?
Well, I don't know which version you mean, but I would search for ‘lights’ in the DataRefs (DataRefEditor) and then maybe for strobe etc. or similar values – and give it a try!

AUA425 replied to dbw1's topic in Hardware Controllers: Joysticks/Yokes | Throttle Quads | Rudder Pedals | Drivers etcThere are mounting holes for screws at the bottom – if you don't want to drill holes in the table, double-sided adhesive tape or adhesive fasteners will do the trick! I built myself a console (as I use an Airbus stick with mechanics) and integrated it here! BR

Crucial Stops Selling RAM To Consumers
Well, then it will just be Chinese manufacturers again who will probably supply the end customer market accordingly! Everything will be AI-controlled anyway, until we no longer know how to use spoons ourselves! And the statement: ‘We would like to thank our millions of customers, hundreds of partners and all Micron employees who have accompanied Crucial over the last 29 years.’ Or interpreted differently – without you, we wouldn't be where we are today, just like all other companies, and we thank you by not giving a word not allowed about you... Greed is a dog – and that's how it will all end here!

Wicked looking clouds, how does it get any better than this?
I noticed that too – during the period when METAR had upper hand (somewhere between updates), there were stations that were never correct – because here in the EU, METAR data above 5000 feet is not provided (as you said) – now the ‘weight’ seems to be better distributed again – and the whole weather forecast seems more authentic – hopefully it will stay that way - I would really like to have a slider where I could set the METAR/FORECAST division!

Patches
Hello Gerald ! Just a short question - are there any extra patches for the X-Plane version? For example, I have version 1.6.72 installed (I have been using MSFS in the meantime) and would like to use X-Plane again. Do I have to reinstall the demo and activate it again? BR, Arnie !

No ramp traffic / vehicles since SU3 (MS2024)
In my case is the setting on ultra - but they are "static aircraft" and aircraft traffic bounded - so if you disable these and use f.e. addon traffic - you don´t see the ground crews - MSFS2024 limitation (again) !

same question - it´s not settings related !!

FS 2024 - AMAZING graphics !!! (Again...)
That's not true at all - the engine has the same quriks as MSFS2020 and the so-called cirrus clouds or what should be are the worst I've seen in current SIMS and I'm not saying that as a MSFS hater! What we see here is simply a metar bubble that appears almost everywhere in MSFS 2024 when rain or similar conditions are reported over the metar station. presumably this should be a continuous band of clouds from - to - but unfortunately MSFS is no longer capable of displaying them since MSFS2020 SU5. Yes, the clouds look better, but only because the lighting has been reworked - I have to admit that. Of course you see such formations, even in real life, but not everywhere and especially almost above every METAR station and I think I fly often enough to be able to judge that. And the so-called cirrus clouds look worlds better in X-Plane, for example. I don't want to start a fundamental discussion, the MSFS can of course be very immersive, no question - but I can't confirm that the weather engine has improved. Quite the opposite - it was even confirmed to me by a 3rd party developer that the weather resolution (overall) has become lower with several releases (also in MSFS2020) - presumably to save bandwidth. And I find that the clouds are mostly transparent even in the distance (especially from above and at night) and look very ‘’low quality‘’ - there is already a thread about it in the MSFS forum !

Reasonable Load Times for 2024?
As already mentioned in other forums and posts - after moving the MSFS2024 back directly to the C:\ SSD hard drive (to the default folder), was also on an M2 SSD earlier (not now) - and after deactivating Nvidia Filter and FPS Limiter (at least until the main menu) I'm almost done under 3 min ! 150 Mbit cable In addition, now, even on the non-streamed, i.e. installed ADDON airports, the stutters have suddenly stopped, even in the loading videos (except of course small ones when reloading), but not comparable to before! So it can run as ‘promised’ after all - the only problem is, as with MSFS2020, that it is so sensitive to various system settings, configurations etc. and often results in completely different experiences with similar systems

What MSFS 2024 got right
....and as always, there will be ‘random’ supply shortages and ‘delivery problems’, which will of course reduce availability and are already mimimum 200 bucks even higher and there will then be mad people who fall for it again and again and then order 2 because they are currently available...🤪 By the way, I got my 4090RTX for 1490,00 eur, it was already at the limit, although it doesn't hurt the budget, but it's slowly becoming a matter of principles! But as it fits everyone, of course, but it's the same everywhere, apparently the more expensive the things are (often without justification) the more people buy them and it's not just about graphics cards - it'll be interesting to see how long that goes on!

What MSFS 2024 got right
So about the same here. After initial difficulties and experimenting around (loading times, stutters etc.), similar bugs as in MSFS2020 - I have to say and I hope it stays that way - I've ironed out pretty much everything that annoyed me. Loading time tip: Switch off FPS limitation when loading and then switch it on again in the main menu (Riva Tuner - can be done) Switch off ReShade and Nvidia Filters during loading (I know it's a bit annoying and shouldn't really be - but it always helps). As a result, normal loading times despite full community folder. Took out my 32GB RAMS (the slow ones, previously a total of 96GB, 2 kits each but with different speeds) and only left the 64 GB (6400) in, reset BIOS and set again - moved MSFS2024 from the 3rd SSD back to the C:\"Standard-installtion-folder" hard drive and now suddenly have absolutely no stutters, almost everything on Ultra, 3x32’ screens. With BeyondATC + Traffic (AIG + FSLTL Liveries), Fenix, several existing addon airports (many basically compatible) and as I said, suddenly a full utilisation of the graphics card and no stutters, even in EHAM at full load, textures sharp - either they have turned something on the server or it is coincidence !

BATC not starting ?
there are 2 batch files in the folder - have you tried running them - not the EXE itself EDIT: sorry, I missed the answer above !

Audio/video cutouts status post 24H2 update: stumped!
I don't want to spoil anything for you - but I thought the same thing after replacing the sound card - 2 days without dropouts - and then sound dropouts again ! this is so inconsistent and incomprehensible but it is due to the MSFS ! But I hope it doesn't cause any more problems for you! ! BR

Hats Off to MSFS 2024 Team
This is "exactly" how it should be in a 770 KG Cessna !

Hats Off to MSFS 2024 Team
same here, especially the weather is, at least from the looks of it, spot on, I don't know what sources they use, but even the fog started about where I saw it in real life !!! Fenix and BeyondATC (waiting for other tools) !
-
Just wow
I also have similar positive experiences - I use the carier mode to bridge the time until I get to the real simming (until all tools are compatible and that seems to be relatively fast - another plus point). Of course it has some glitches but basically no long loading times (at least normal), the weather looks incredibly good again and is pretty accurate, no performance problems ... I also use ‘lossless scaling’...definitely helps. Of course it also depends on the hardware, no question, but my system is always ‘up to date’ (drivers and bios), I think it's often due to that - because how else do such different problems come about!

Too Many Users Message
So honestly it's actually a joke - I don't want to criticise MSFS (I love MSFS and X-Plane) - of course nothing is easy - but I can't "walk around", hyping and telling how amazing not everything is, that they managed (thanks XBOX, but nothing against the XBOX users) to minimise the whole thing to stream more but at the same time didn't calculate or didn't expect the servers to be overloaded - it was clear anyway !!! Why not preload directly or at least preload the necessary files - why not give the option of loading more data onto the hard drive (nowadays storage space costs nothing anyway, I mean the hard drives). What about on public holidays when everyone is at home ? (and please dont say "it´s a day one release - it will probably get better"). As a "serious simmer" (I don't like the expression, but for me it's about the equipment), I don't want to be dependent ONLY on the servers after I've started all my components. (probably no one) !! That's why I've always been very skeptical about this "online obligation" - and here it's just about getting to the main menu, and not about "flying into the sky without limits"! Sad, but unfortunately it was to be expected ! BR !

MSFS2024 Stuck @ over 90%
"too many users are trying to connect at the same time" you are in a queue...please wait a few minutes or try again" That's a joke for 140 - 220 bucks ! I don't have to ‘play’ it today, but at least get into the main menu ! And I bet the statement will be ‘yes it´s amazing - we didn't expect so many users to go online at the same time’ ! 😁
-
MSFS2024 Stuck @ over 90%
At 86% window suddenly closed (after an hour) - restart - at 5% loading language - for god's sake - I know it's only been out for a few hours - but shouldn't they have rethought this installation routine (even despite repeated complaints about MSFS2020)..what did they think 10 people were going to play MSFS to begin with !?! I love the MSFS but wouldn't it be better not to be able to download the packages outside the game ! After seeing in the presentation that even more content remains online, I was afraid of this !

Xp12.10 New Weather Engine
Yes, for me it seems to be the same - I think they rather gave the METAR the “authority ”! My test example is “LOXT” (not always occupied and not always METAR data available) - before the 12.1 version the clouds were often correct (of course not always possible in the SIM) - unfortunately, after the update, if there is no data available - clear weather is simply displayed - so so-called METAR bubbles are apparently created here - unfortunately, exactly the “wrong” way - just like MSFS. The look is of course much better - but you also see less incoming fronts !!! 😔
