panning smoother after SP1?

Recommended Posts

I have the amd 64 FX-55 with 2gig of ram on board and the ati x850 pro platium whatever, yada yada with 512megs on itnow ive tried fsx twice on my system and it was pretty good as long as i was flying bush type flights - which is 95% of my flying i do anyway - but the thing that really did it for me an made me go back to fs9 is that the panning was so jerky and choppy - just killed the imersion factor for mei've got fs9 running great right now, but i have to say - oh how i miss the new crispy ground textures, - i wish fs9 had that - however, i'm almost ready to try fsx again, but kinda hesitantdoes sp1 improve the panning smoothness?thanksciao!Brian S

I have the same cpu as urs and I find with sp1 everything works smoothly, unless your using GenerationX Uk scenery, then it's a stuttery mess.

On my machine, the VC panning is MUCH MUCH smoother with SP1.RhettAMD 3700+ (@2585 mhz), eVGA 7800GT 256 (Guru3D 93.71), ASUS A8N-E, PC Power 510 SLI, 2gb Corsair XMS 3-3-3-8 (1T), WD 150 gig 10000rpm Raptor, WD 250gig 7200rpm SATA2, Seagate 120gb 5400 rpm external HD, CoolerMaster Praetorian

Same here. I have a Track IR 4 Pro and looking around in pre-SP1 is not nice... When I quickly turned my head around the screen froze a bit and suddenly jumped to the next view. Big stutters. But with SP1 looking around is SMOOTH. Even when I quicly look around it feels like I am er... quickly looking around. ;) No more big stutters and short freezing/hanging. This is one of the MAIN reasons for me to keep using SP1 (the other being general improvement in fps). I tried to go back to pre-SP1 because of the late texture loading, autogen popup and tree-problem (can't go any higher than Normal with autogen) but pre-SP1 and looking around is too bad for me. Even when fps is low somewhere, looking around is still smoother.
