Update broke everything

Featured Replies

This is getting to be worse than the sim itself if that's even possible. I just installed the latest update (from 6/18) and even though it says I'm connected to the sim and all lights are green, I'm not getting a thing from P2ATC. Dead. Will not change frequencies or nothing. It's getting old. Earlier the sim was broken and couldn't fly and now P2ATC seems to be broken.

And I was really excited when I saw that it now imports direct from Simbrief. Cool if it will work. But I also noticed that it does not import the correct flight level. No big deal and it can be changed but just wondering why?

So I reinstalled P2ATC and now can't update the AIRAC to 2206. I've run the Navigraph FMS Data Mgr. (yes I have a current subscription) and P2ATC is stuck on Cycle 1801. What a pain in the aspen.

None of the things you describe, besides the (unrelated and already reported if you had looked in the forum) simbrief issue, sound like a P2A issue. Your FSUIPC install probably isn't working correctly, and I would question whether you properly uninstalled (cleanly, no leftover files in %appdata%) P2A, or whether you needed to at all.

I recommend not coming into the forum so full of emotion...people want to help you...try to be objective and offer empirical, clear information in order for folks to try to help you troubleshoot. No need to fly in here full of complaints with zero commonality with each other.

Sorry if my frustration doesn't meet your standards. This program is full of bugs and every update adds new drama. Sorta like the sim itself.

I finally got the Airac cycle to update but P2ATC will not connect to the sim. My FSUIPC is working just fine with all other system apps.

What errors are displayed and it would be helpful to provide the logs.

When Pilot2ATC connects, there will be 3 lines in the Speech Text Window at the bottom right and the Connect button will turn green and the text will change to Connected.  The last line in the Speech Text Window will be "Grammars Loaded".
Assuming FSUIPC is working correctly, here are some other things to try:

  • Be sure the SIM is fully up and running and not paused before you try to connect.  The cockpit must be showing.
  • Be sure you are connected to the internet. It must be a reliable connection.
  • English-US Language installed and set as Primary Language, English Speech Recognition installed also.
  • Working Microphone installed and set as Default Sound Input device in Windows
  • Valid Call Sign – Try using the default call sign of Mfg: Beech; Tail Number: N431VB.  Press the Save button.
  • Try running the program in Administrator mode by right clicking on the Pilot2ATC.exe file and selecting “Run as Administrator”
  • If it seems to partially connect but the Connect button does not turn Green, set the Weather option to a different source such as NOAA Real Time Weather and try again.
  • If still won't fully connect, try deleting the AppConfig.xml file.  You will lose your Config settings, but some users have reported that this fixed their connection issue.  The file is located at:
    • c:\users\<UserName>\AppData\Roaming\P2A_200\Settings\AppConfig.xml
    • where <UserName> is your PC user name.  Portions of the path may be hidden by default, so be sure Windows Explorer has Show Hidden Items checked in the View tab.
  • If connecting to MSFS, one user reported that setting FSUIPC WASM to Enabled fixed it for them.
