June 27, 20223 yr 100 metric tons into orbit. 😯 Submersibles to Europa and Enceladus and the other ocean worlds to look for life. Exciting stuff. Telescopes three times larger than Hubble could be fit in Spaceship. Edited June 27, 20223 yr by martin-w

He never was able to tell me anything about his work but one day at a cookout he made casual mention of 'metals that exploded at room temperature'. That's the most he ever said to me about his work but it always reminded me of the scene where Dave Bowman is entering through the airlock and on the ship it says "Caution:Explosive Bolts". 2001 has always been the godfather of space movies for me because of its attention to at least some physics. There's no sound in space. Its too bad the artificial gravity thing didn't work out in real life. My dad used to quiz me on a variety of topics but the one question he kept coming back to was "Dave, how does ion propulsion work?" I always answerewd to the best of my ability and I always thought I was correct but he always came back to that same question for some reason. I must have been wrong in thinking it was based on equal and opposite reactions and the lack of friction in space. Edited June 28, 20223 yr by sightseer | Dave | I've been around for most of my life. And Mecahzilla has successful lifted the booster with its multitude of engines (more than any rocket launch prior) onto the pad.
