July 2, 20223 yr I'd like to report back after changing all my HID and USB power settings. It really seems as if this has solved most of my stutter problems. I never had problems with stuttering until approach and after changing these settings, I think it makes sense. I only get stuttering with PMDG 737 and FBWA320 right after I switch off the A/P. I think before, after I switched off the A/P and started interacting more with the joystick, keyboard, mouse, etc... there was an issue with my system having to bring them back "online". After changing these settings, I've had 4 flights in a row with absolutely no stuttering. If people are having issues on approach, I would definitely make sure to change the settings. I was surprised to see every single one of my ports was one "allow computer to wake", or whatever its called. Edited July 2, 20223 yr by Bdub22
July 2, 20223 yr There are more USB power management settings than the Power window shows normally. This describes how you add them to your power window through a registry change. (its safe, it just unhides it) https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/108194-add-usb-3-link-power-management-power-options-windows.html https://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/108197-add-hub-selective-suspend-timeout-power-options-windows.html There is a 4th USB setting called "Setting IOC an all TD`s" which is not documented on tenforums which imho after reading about it is about checksums being added to every USB message yes or no only a checksum per batch of messages, checksums are nice for when you move data to for example a USB stick, but not so nice when it`s streaming data like music or a high speed hardware controller because of latency issues that adding that information generates. This setting solved my audio problems by turning it to "disabled" Turn on all hidden powerconfig options (there`s many) can be done with a script, but i wouldnt go this way. https://gist.github.com/raspi/203aef3694e34fefebf772c78c37ec2c (on the bottom of this page there are some other suggestions as well.) If you know how to do the first 2 tenforums suggestions then you`ll understand how to manually do all the others, ergo set to all options under the registry location below the Attributes value to 0 HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\PowerSettings Edited July 2, 20223 yr by StoreyedTrain
July 2, 20223 yr @StoreyedTrain Thanks for that info, I'll definitely check those settings out. I'm still so surprised how much stuttering was caused by those USB power settings, but it makes sense why it was happening when it did. Cheers.
