July 4, 20223 yr For some unknown reason, I'm getting a double superimposed layer of clouds. I'm using ASXP and SkyMaxxPro with regular clouds, not the beta volumetric clouds. One layer seems normal and the other appears to be transparent and shifted slightly to the side. Do any of you have any idea what's going on with this and how to fix it, please? https://mega.nz/file/9AQGUY4S#s39q1wZ-59xGQnkzmt0wg3RWrI3TWv7LhywX6xFQ17E
July 4, 20223 yr I wouldn’t think you should use those two plugins together. Doesn’t SkyMaxx Pro download and inject weather like ActiveSky?
July 4, 20223 yr Try disabling one of the plugins. Maybe the RealWeather connector is causing issues. Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. X-Plane 12 and MSFS2020 🙂 System specs: Windows 11 Pro 64-bit, Ubuntu Linux 20.04 i7-13700KF Gigabyte Z790 RTX-4060-Ti , 32GB RAM 1X 2TB M2 for X-Plane 12, 1x256GB SSD for OS. 1TB drive MSFS2020

Hmmm...I'll try that but according to X-Aviation, SkyMaxxPro doesn't inject weather on its own and needs another plugin called RealWeatherConnector (which I have) that is supposed to use weather data from ASXP or FSGRW.

That is correct. If you have External WX engine selected in RWC you are good to go. FWIW, your screen capture looks OK. Layers that are further away often looked like that as I recall. I don't run SMP/RWC any longer (although I still have them in my "plug-in's_disabled folder). Did not care for the latest version
July 5, 20223 yr Additional thought... Again, as I recall (LOL) the effect you describe is more or less apparent depending on the cumulus graphic you select. I always found the default selection (forget what they call it) to be the best for me.
July 6, 20223 yr Looking at your shot, I don't see the 'problem'. SkyMaxx has always looked horrid, weird puffs hanging there with visible cut-offs. [MSI MPG X870E Carbon | 9800X3D (PBO +200Mhz / -20 Offset) | Corsair 64GB DDR5 (Custom Timings) | RTX 4090 Founders Edition (Undervolted) | WD SNX 850X 4TB + 4TB | Antec Flux Pro]

Well, it turns out that SkyMaxxPro *is* the culprit. It also doesn't work well at night -- I get weird purple/grey "night" for the terrain, banded sky with stars, etc. It's OK during the daytime but it's no good at night. I'll have to find something else. Can't use UWXP XEnviro (I have both) because they don't work on a multi-display setup.

You could try CloudArt or Extended Skyscapes/Cloudscapes, if you want 3D clouds with its performance hit, depending on you system. Frankly, we’ve all been chasing our tails for good weather visuals in Xplane 11. Xplane 12 should gives us what we want.

Well, this is a big improvement: https://www.dropbox.com/s/vom9uc31azo9q14/kbrg_rwy_03.jpg I turned off ASXP and Sky Maxx Pro / RWC and used this: XFD SCN 5.1 with Cloud Art 3.3 - with reshade presets https://www.xflightdeck.com/xfd-scenery I've got sharper looking clouds with ground shadows and realistic looking sky colours. Haven't tried it at night yet, we shall see. I've not had any luck with volumetric clouds. Extended Skyscapes had flashing cloud textures on the side displays just like UWXP or XEnviro. At least this XFD SCN 5.1 w/ Reshade works on mutiple displays.
