Default XP11?

Featured Replies

Without getting into one sim vs, another arguments (I own them all and have spent way too many $$$ on add ons for all of them too) - I’m getting a strange pleasure out of flying the LevelUp 737s through DEFAULT XP11 scenery of late.

No Ortho4XP, no TrueEarth, just default scenery in preparation for XP12’s improved landclass-ish scenery and new features hopefully released soon.

Part of my interest in simplicity/minimalism overall lately.

I mentally change gears to say “no, you can’t see the Home Depot, but pretend you’re flying a 737 simulator - and Xp12 will include enough key POI to make it convincing.

Thoughts?

I'm with you, although I feel tempted by some aspects of that other flightsim scenery that turns everything I look around so close to reality...

But for me the very first thing I look after in a flight simulator are the flight dynamics and systems modeling, together with a plausible representation of weather.

I was just comenting with a friend that most probably I'll use XP12 with it's default scenery or, at most, with some kind of enhancements like those that I used to download from the SimHeaven Magic place 🙂

I do have a default XP11 installation for development and testing. As I'm usually not focusing on the scenery too much, it provides a totally adequate experience.

On a "production" XP11 install, however, it's all about X-Europe, HD Mesh, Orthos, seasonal textures, denser forests, etc. But I'll be really glad if I need much less of that stuff in XP12.

I'm looking forward to that as well.  I think we all are...LOL!
