For now I'm still very content with the fully proven system and functionality immerse of FSX.

You were at that point from the start. You were seeking some kind of validation that the new kids have issues (FSX has a ton of them itself) hence the tone and language used in your original post.

The irony is, the XP cult keep claiming that XP has better default systems than MSFS. Well, at least for the G1000, that is not true as of SU 10.

Remember, the XP12 cult public beta is supposed to be released by the end of July. That's only three more days. Someone please make a YouTube video comparing the scenery of XP12 to MSFS. 🙂

Clearly you want to stay with FSX, which is fine also.... 😉

Actually, no I don't. I'd like to join MSFS, but at the very least, in a 'next' gen sim, I expect EVERYTHING a nominally mod'ed FSX has THEN add lots of improvements to it. When you get a new great looking car, one does not expect a customer to make due with bias ply tires, missing turn signals or no intermittent wipers.

Or maybe FS2020 is intended to become a service and never a finished product? I'm legitimately asking as I don't follow Asobo's statement goal. In a way, it' sort of been a luxury all these years with FSX being a finite stable product. You knew exactly what you had and how to work with it, both from a user standpoint and addon creator.

If you are serious about that statement... just jump in, you are not going to be alone here 🙂

Just make sure that you have 16 GB RAM, 8 GB VRAM, a 500 GB dedicated SSD, and a decent internet connection.

And.. you can keep FSX installed as long as you like.. I still have P3D V5 installed.. just never fly it anymore..

If you expect the base game to do everything the modded predecessor could do, then I think that's an unrealistic expectation. It sounds like you expect a new factory car to have everything your car has after it's been modified through many years with lots of aftermarket parts.

If by finite you mean finished, then no I hope MSFS never will be. I hope we’ll see a constant development cycle of improvements the same as we see with DCS and XP.

FSX core was never “finished”, it rapidly took on abandonware status when MS withdrew further development. Constantly developing does mean the updates will break stuff, but it’s for the greater good, you can’t make an omelette n’ all…
