It’s highly dependent on upper temps being realistic which requires a third-party weather program. OK... ActiveSky may be an exception... It doesn't take that much room/resources... But everything else stays the same - vanilla P3D... In a way, I appreciate it. That cat on YouTube (the one that you said has questionable info) had a comparison of vanilla 5.3 vs fully-modded 5.3, and honestly? Vanilla doesn't look that bad. I just have to keep in mind what the focus is - aircraft and procedures. MSFS has the visuals beat, there is NO competition. But we still don't have a weather radar on any jets. PMDG included. That's kind of annoying, so... that's where the old itch for P3D comes from.

If you were to select one of the default weather presets on P3D, would the temps up there not correspond to what they would be realistically? Just a question.

AS only updates every 15 mins and takes minimal resources. 4 minutes ago, BostonJeremy77 said: OK... Hypothetical question. I have never used P3D without ActiveSky... The critical instrument to watch is ISA DEV which also shows TAT. Negative ISA aids climb rates but causes descents to take longer. Positive ISA causes poorer climb rates but aids descent. You could try various weather themes and see which works best once Concorde is released. I don’t know if any other aircraft has the ISA DEV instrument. Ray (Cheshire, England).
