I skim Google News each morning and more and more paywalls are going up. I realize that there are costs involved in putting out news but I can't afford all the papers from all the news I want to read in depth. I would have to pick just one and it would be limited. If Google made a deal with all the major papers like WSJ WAPO NYT LAT SFC to open them all up for a reasonable fee I would be interested. But if I want to read a national story in the Washington Post and a local southwest story in the LA Times and an editorial about something in the Guardian a flat fee covering them all would be more affordable. Noel The tires are worn. The shocks are shot. The steering is wobbly. But the engine still runs fine.
