August 7, 20223 yr Yesterday, I took off from Darwin and was climbing to my cruising altitude when I noticed something which appeared odd. The right engine vibration indicator progressed up to 1.3 then reduced to 0.1, before starting to climb again. I managed to capture the video below which shows both engines vibrations - which to me seem to be excessive for what was pretty calm weather - no failures had been set and no faults were showing. Shortly after I captured the videos, both engine's vibrations settled on 0.6 and I did not notice any further unusual movement. Is this normal? is there an explanation? Is it a bug? https://www.dropbox.com/s/5wf9gdib2fn4d0d/Vibrations.MOV?dl=0 Edited August 7, 20223 yr by SquadronLeader George Westwell
August 7, 20223 yr That's a bit too technical for my liking 🙈 Have you tried asking this in the official PMDG forum? You may get an answer there. August 7, 20223 yr Interesting question! Maybe this can shed some light on the issue: https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/74224/what-does-vib-stand-for-in-eicas Anything below 4.0 in the vibration indicator is considered normal. I wouldn't be surprised if the PMDG 737 simulates this based on engine maintenance status, but that's just guessing from my side. My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600
