PMDG 737-700 Good or Bad Vibrations?

Featured Replies

Yesterday, I took off from Darwin and was climbing to my cruising altitude when I noticed something which appeared odd. The right engine vibration indicator progressed up to 1.3 then reduced to 0.1, before starting to climb again. I managed to capture the video below which shows both engines vibrations - which to me seem to be excessive for what was pretty calm weather - no failures had been set and no faults were showing. Shortly after I captured the videos, both engine's vibrations settled on 0.6 and I did not notice any further unusual movement.

Is this normal? is there an explanation? Is it a bug?

That's a bit too technical for my liking 🙈

Have you tried asking this in the official PMDG forum? You may get an answer there.

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

Interesting question! Maybe this can shed some light on the issue: https://aviation.stackexchange.com/questions/74224/what-does-vib-stand-for-in-eicas

Anything below 4.0 in the vibration indicator is considered normal. I wouldn't be surprised if the PMDG 737 simulates this based on engine maintenance status, but that's just guessing from my side.

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600
