August 14, 20223 yr Still playing with the 737. Just wasted best part of a day trying to work through the test flight as per their manuals. Tried it several times but it just doesn't seem to work exactly as described, so gave up and went back to my own limited understanding. Did a flight from KSTS to KLAX, basic flight plan, manual take off then auto. Went ok until the end but more on that later. First shot is sort of unrelated, and is just the 737-700 with the lovely old Delta livery parked at KSFO. I had tried just a landing there first to see how that went. Seemed ok'ish so thought I'd try a full flight. So I headed out from KSTS, primarily because I thought that would give me a chance to overfly SF Bay and grab some shots. Which I did, but I think I'm still suffering from a reduced draw distance for my scenery objects. Stuff was popping into place in a way that was way too FSX like. I've moaned about this in various places, and I'm still hopefull that this is part of the little bugs that have been hitting me since SU9 that I hope will be fixed in SU10. It wasn't doing this on my system a few months back. Doesn't look real, does it? But I know it is. I really love these older liveries, and this is wonderfully weathered. Approaching LA now And it was around here that it all went weird on me. Don't know if it's a memory leak of some kind or what, but on the rare occasions where I do anything much more than just a twenty minute exploratory flight, I find the sim goes a bit crazy on me. About an hour into this flight it started having stutter attacks, and even multi-second pauses, and by the time I got down this far, it just went apesh*t on me. Massive pauses and loss of visuals, and when it came out of the pause it seemed like the flight had continued, at least partially, and I struggled to regain any semblance of control. I'm moderately sure it may also be a server thing, as it seems to happen most often over the weekend here, which I assume is a busier time that during the week. In this case, it was so uncontrollable that I struggled to bring the plane in to land, eventually doing so only to realise I hadn't put the wheels down - I was so busy trying to focus on the direction I was actually heading in. (actually, the landing was pretty smooth, in a no-undercarriage kind of way <grin>. No pixels were harmed in the making of this flight) Edited August 14, 20223 yr by andy1252 text Ryzen 9 7900X, Corsair H150 AIO cooler, 64 Gb DDR5, Asus X670E Hero m/b, 3090ti, 13Tb NVMe, 8Tb SSD, 16Tb HD, 55" Philips 4k HDR monitor, EVGA 1600w ps, all in Corsair 7000D airflow case.
