August 17, 20223 yr I have a recent anomaly (problem is too strong). When I start my P3d v5.3 the colours outside the cockpit are glaring and washed out (not auto -exposure). If I go out of the screen to Options, for example and then back the colours revert to what I set them to be. Could it be a shader problem. Do I perhaps need to delete shaders and HLSL shaders as well? Ian Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. August 17, 20223 yr Moderator That's where I would start Ian. Default shaders for starters and then HLSL if required. Ray (Cheshire, England). August 18, 20223 yr Author Well, it isn't the normal shaders. So next I will re-install the client to get the original HLSL shaders back. Could have changed when I dabbled in ENVDIR a couple of weeks ago. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. August 18, 20223 yr I have had major issues with 3rd party shaders, totally messed P3Dv5 up so much i had to reinstall it,so i wouldnt be surprised if that caused your problems,i personally steer well clear of 3rd party addon shaders now.
August 18, 20223 yr Author It isn't HLSL shaders either, re-installed Client and still the same. However, I am not going to re-install everything. All it takes to fix it , is to go out to Options ,without touching any settings , cancel and come back and it is back to as it should be. Very odd, but certainly not the end of the world. Maybe I will find the answer one day. Intel i7 6700K @4.3. 32gb Gskill 3200 RAM. Z170x Gigabyte m/b. 28" LG HD monitor. Win 10 Home. 500g Samsung 960 as Windows home. 1 Gb Mushkin SSD for P3D. August 18, 20223 yr Author In a flash of inspiration, I found the culprit....Chaseplane! I had set the override HDR setting to improve lighting in the cockpit and that apparently messes up the lighting outside. Now trying without EA and HDR. So far that is the answer.
